Tinubu Signs ‘Nigeria We Hail Thee’ Bill Into Law, Sings New Anthem At NASS

President Bola Tinubu has signed into law the National Anthem Bill passed by the National Assembly on Tuesday.

The bill seeks to revert to Nigeria’s old National Anthem at independence in 1960 “Nigeria we hail thee “ .

The old National anthem was abrogated by the military in 1978 and 46 years after, President Bola Tinubu signs the National Anthem bill returning the the anthem in place of the newer one “Arise oh compatriots.

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio disclosed the Presidential assent today, 29 May, 2024 at a joint session of both chambers of the National Assembly to mark 25 years of unbroken democracy in the country.

President Tinubu joined the National Assembly session to sing the newly reinstated National Anthem.
