Former Abia State Governor and current Senator, Theodore Orji (PDP-Abia) has ascribed the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki as the President of the Senate as a proof that politics is all about negotiation and not war.
Orji, who spoke with reporters in Abuja on Tuesday after the adjournment of the first session of the 8th Senate, said that with negotiation, things work out better.
He expressed confidence that the new Senate President would stabilise the Red Chamber just like former Senate president David Mark had done.
His words: “What has happened today has shown us that politics is all about negotiation. It is not war always. When you negotiate, you give and take and things will work out well for us. He, Saraki, will stabilise the Senate. That is one of the major functions that he has to do.
“The new Senate President has said it; he will stabilise the Senate and when you stabilise the hallowed chamber, you have stabilised the country.”
Orji said that the PDP decided to look beyond the political platform of Senator Saraki, supported his personality and qualities which was why the party gave him the support.
