A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa state, DIG Philemon Ibrahim (rtd) says the stakeholders of the party in the state have not seen any genuine reason to cancel the hitch-free ward Congress held in the state which the national secretariat of the party wants to see annulled.
Ibrahim, who addressed the press at the state’s secretariat of the party in Yola and stressed that “the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) must rescind its decision and accept the good work done and submitted by the ward congress electoral committee for the progress of our great party, or the stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party Adamawa State Chapter and their supporters would have no option than to think otherwise.”
Ibrahim submitted that the Congress was conducted peaceful and followed due process according to the party’s constitutional guidelines, reminding the national party officials that what was done in Adamawa was primarily the mandate of the people.
He however accused one Bobboi who they believe is an agent of A A Gulak of snatching the original results sheets and the incidents was reported to the Directorate of State Security Services (DSS) Adamawa state.
According to Ibrahim, after due consultation with stakeholders, it was agreed that election results should be recorded on the photocopy of the results sheets certified by all the members of the Congress committee present.
He added that the stakeholders, after obtaining a sworn Declaration of Affidavit from the Adamawa state High Court, Yola observed that the election materials were released to stakeholders with personal agenda and this has created problem for the committee to commence the process at the appropriate time.
