Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday said that his advice on government matters would now be confidential and not for public consumption.

According to him, any advice that needs to be given to the government should be given confidentially adding that using the public or media as a means to advice the government is a great disservice to it.

“If I have to advise government, I will advise them in confidence because I was in government before. My advice will not be on the pages of newspapers,” the former vice president said.

Atiku stated this after a closed-door meeting with former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida at his Uphill residence in Minna on Tuesday.

The former vice president said restructuring of the nation was not up to an individual to decide but “it is up to Nigerians to decide on the restructuring on Nigeria.”

Atiku arrived at 12.40 pm at the Minna Airport in his private aircraft with registration number T7AAA and was received by the state Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello. The duo then proceeded to the residence of the former military leader where the meeting held.

On the purpose of the meeting, Atiku said that he was in Minna to greet Babangida on the latter’s return from a medical vacation abroad.

“I came to Visit General Babangida and to wish him well since he returned from medical vacation abroad,” Atiku said.
