From Victor Seyi, Ilorin

About 85 workers and visitors who came to the Governor’s Office in Ilorin on Tuesday were locked out in the morning.
A source said the Head of Service, Hajia Zahra Omar, who was uncomfortable with the lateness of some of the workers had secretly directed on Monday that the gate of the complex be locked immediately
after 8.a.m.
The closure of the gate caught many senior and juniors workers in the governor’s office unawares making the workers and some visitors to be stranded.
Some of the punctual workers told our correspondent that the HOS had warned them severally against lateness to work.
Some of the workers who came late and who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said they had some problems on their ways. They however appealed for forgiveness.
The HOS surprisingly declined to comment on the issue. But a source who pleaded anonymity said the HOS used that measure to ginger the workers for punctuality and productivity.
