A member of the House of Representative from Niger state representing, Suleja, Tafa and Gurara federal constituency, Hon. Abubakar Lado Suleja, has said Suleja people are demanding for N30 billion from the federal government as compensation for over 800 km square of land named Abuja caved from Suleja.
The lawmaker made this disclosure during an interview with newsmen in Minna after presenting his scorecard before the Niger state executive council.
He said this became necessary following decades of non-implementation of the issue which was included in the 1976 Akinola Aguda panel report committee on the creation of the nation’s new capital territory.
The legislator added that the committee that recommended the establishment of National Youth Development Centre, National Tourism Development Centre, Federal Medical Centre and Civil Service Training Institute in Suleja, which have not been implemented.
Lado noted that he had moved a motion that got the House resolution demanding for the said compensation as well as another motion on the need for the completion of Small Earth Dam 1 Lefu and Water Resources in Madalla and Sabon Wuse, Gurara and Tafa Local governments of Niger state.
He reiterated his commitment to sustaining the tempo throughout his tenure at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
He disclosed that he had affected lives in the three local governments he represented with foreign and local scholarships and in the area of health.
Lado further said that his programs were carried out regardless of faith or gender including: infrastructural development of schools, roads water, rural electrification, subsidies to farmers and skills acquisition and vocational training of over 4,500 applicants.
At the event, Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, said that his administration will continued to support and partner with any lawmaker who executed projects capable of impacting directly on the lives of the citizens positively.
He applauded the effort of the lawmaker for his various constituency projects to the sum of N485,797,000 so far which has direct bearing on the lives of the ordinary people especially the youths while he enjoined other legislators in the state to emulate the kind gesture.
The governor added that if similar paths of development were been carried out by other lawmakers, the problems associated with the present recession would have being minimized for the people.
