Schools Remain Open, Says Council of Obas
The Orimolusi Of Ijebu-Igbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Alalaiyeluwa Oba Lawrence Jaiyeoba, has begun a Seven-day spiritual retreat as part of the traditional rites he needs to perform following his recent coronation signposted by receiving the Staff of Office from the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
Known in the spiritual scripture of the Ijebu Igbo People as Òdo, Chairman, Orimolusi Coronation Committee, Otunba Femi Dinah, made the announcement at the weekend via a public statement.

Chief Dinah’s statement, entitled “Orimolusi Spiritual Retreat At Òdo” reads in full:
“Good day, good people of Ijebu-Igbo Kingdom. As you are now aware, our Kabiyesi, the Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo, will commence the Odo spiritual formalities on Monday, 14th March, 2022. He will perform certain formalities at Òdorámúsègún and Ìdóde, meet with the Agbòns and the Pampás at Igbáìré, stop at Ìtaalé, Òkè-Àgbò, to collect a gift from the Bèjerókù of Òkè-Àgbò, before proceeding to the Òdo at Ayékù, near Asìgìdì.
“We can visit him from about 4 pm at the Òdo on Monday 14th March, 2022, and at any time during the remaining six days of the retreat.
“To get to the Òdo, proceed to Ìtaalé, Òkè-Àgbò, and ask for Asìgìdì Road. Go down Asìgìdì Road, and you will be directed by people to the Òdo at Ayékù.
“Orimolusi a gbe dede eni o.”

Further to the above statement, the Ijebu-Igbo Council of Oba, also issued a statement on the Òdo rites. Issued by the Secretary of the Council and the Olokine of Ojowo, Oba Abdulrasheed Abayomi Banjo, the statement reads in part:
“The general public, market leaders and operators are to further be put on notice that Ijebu Igbo markets would be closed tomorrow 14th March and 20th March only .
In similar manner, all parties already scheduled between 14th and 20th March should be rescheduled as there should be no music during the period Orimolusi would be on Traditional Spiritual Retreat.
“Schools and other educational outfits are not affected by the additional information”
“The Council however regrets any inconveniences that the late release of this information might cause.
“Kindly give this the widest spread it deserves.”
